Hey friends!

I get asked all the time: “What are the best organizing products you recommend?”

The short answer? It depends.

The longer answer? It really comes down to things like the room you’re in, what items you’re storing, the volume, the size of the space, your budget, and who’s going to be accessing the stuff—just to name a few.

But over the last decade of helping clients get their lives and homes more organized, there are a few go-to products I recommend again and again. They’re versatile, functional, and stand the test of real life (and often chaos!). I use them in my own home, in multiple ways and rooms, and I love that they truly make life easier. (Each heading is a link – click to see the product)

Here are five of my tried-and-true favorites:

1. The MVP: Fully Adjustable Metal Shelves with Wheels

I know I mentioned these recently, but I truly can’t overstate how incredibly useful they are. The real game changer? The castors (a.k.a. wheels). They don’t come automatically with the shelves, but they’re 100% worth adding when you buy.

With the wheels, you can easily rearrange a space, clean underneath, or roll everything out of the way in case of a basement flood or a spontaneous project (because you know how life goes). These are sturdy, strong, and work beautifully in garages, basements, utility rooms—even dorm rooms. I’ve had one in my own college setup (a million years ago)!

Bonus: The shelves are fully adjustable to fit any bin or bulky item you’ve got. Easy assembly too!

2. Bins That Just Work: Open-Top Plastic Bins with Handles

Okay, not to geek out on a plastic bin—but ever since The Container Store released these, I’ve been obsessed. They’re lightweight, super durable, and have built-in handles. They also come in several sizes, and yes, I own every single one.

They’ve followed me through multiple apartments and now live in nearly every room of my house—kitchen, bathroom, office, entryway, craft shelf… you name it.

They look clean and simple, which makes them blend into any space. Tonight while pasta was boiling, I grabbed an extra-small one and reorganized my spice cabinet on the fly. I love when a product is that easy to reuse and repurpose.

3. Spin to Win: Turntables for Every Corner

Who doesn’t love a turntable? These are a must in hard-to-reach spots like kitchen cabinets, bathroom shelves, or even craft rooms. I use them constantly with clients and often hear, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”

They make it so easy to see and reach what you have—whether it’s spices, condiments, or self-care products. The lip on the edge helps keep things from flying off, even when kids spin them a little too enthusiastically.

We often end up grabbing more than one because once you see how well they work… you want them everywhere.

4. Max Out Your Doors: Clear Over-the-Door Shoe Bags

This isn’t just for shoes (although, yes, it can totally hold those too). I love the clear, durable ones because you can see exactly what’s inside.

Right now, I’ve got one in my pantry and one in a guest bedroom. Between the two, they’re holding:
• Snacks
• Aprons
• Parchment paper
• Gloves
• Hats
• Outdoor gear
• And yes… a few pairs of shoes

I once helped a client use several of these to organize her beautiful scarf collection by color—and it turned into a whole art moment in her bedroom!

It’s an easy, budget-friendly solution that works in any room and makes your things accessible and easy to grab.

5. Say Goodbye to Paper Piles: Open-Top File Boxes

If I walk into a kitchen with a paper pile problem (you know the one), this is my go-to solution. When papers are stored vertically, they’re easier to sort, grab, and file away.

I keep one right on my kitchen counter for:

  • School papers
  • Bills
  • Directories
  • Things I need to read or act on

It takes up way less space than a stack of paper, and if company’s coming, I can just pop it into a cabinet or move it to the office.

They’re also amazing for active projects in your home office or even for storing coloring books and activity pads for the kids. I currently have one in the living room for my daughter’s favorite papers and books.

These are just five of the products I recommend constantly—and actually use myself. I’ve put together a collection of links so you can check them all out in one spot, along with a few other game-changing organizing tools I love.
