Hey friends!
The school year is ending, the pool bags are coming out, and your kids are growing faster than your patience. Sound familiar?
This time of year is chaotic for most families. Between the school send-offs, the snack explosions in the car, and the new summer rhythm that hasn’t quite settled yet, it’s easy to let clutter pile up—especially in your kids’ closets.
But instead of feeling guilty or overwhelmed, try this: start small.
Here’s one quick and purposeful organizing tip you can do this week:

Create a “Too Small / Donate” Summer Bin
It’s exactly what it sounds like—a simple bin (or basket or box) for all the stuff your kids have outgrown now that summer is here.
Step 1: Grab a bin and label it
Use whatever you have—a cardboard box, a laundry basket, or even a reusable shopping bag. Slap a post-it note or write on it: “Too Small / Donate – Summer 2025”.
Put the bin where it’s easy to access: laundry room, bottom of their closet, or even your hallway.
Step 2: Try on the essentials
Have your kids do a super quick try-on session of last year’s swimsuits, shorts, sandals, and tees. Make it a game or a challenge. Keep it light and judgment-free. If it doesn’t fit, it goes in the bin. No drama.
Step 3: Let it sit for a week
As you do laundry or go about your week, toss in items that clearly don’t fit anymore. You don’t have to do it all in one day. This is about making it easy and doable.
Step 4: Schedule a donation drop-off
Once the bin is full (or the week ends), look up a local donation center or check if any nonprofits offer porch pickup. Add it to your calendar like any other appointment—because it matters.
Why This Works
Letting go of clothes that no longer fit is more than just tidying up—it’s a mindset shift. It helps clear visual clutter and emotional baggage, too. You’re not just making space in drawers—you’re making space in your brain.
Progress, not perfection.
And hey, that’s good enough. 😉
