Hey friends!
We carry the world in our pockets—and sometimes, it feels like the world never stops buzzing. Between texts, emails, app alerts, news updates, and endless scrolls, our brains are constantly “on,” even when we’re off the clock.
No wonder we feel exhausted.
If you’ve been feeling anxious, distracted, overstimulated, or just off, it might not be you—it might be your screen time. A digital detox doesn’t have to be extreme or all-or-nothing. You can unplug in small, intentional ways that help you reset, breathe deeper, and be more present.

Here are four doable ways to gently detox from the digital world:
- Take a 24-hour tech break
Choose one day this week to unplug. Let people know you’ll be offline (set a cute auto-reply or story if you want), then power down your phone, tablet, laptop—whatever pulls your attention. Spend the day connecting with your real life: read, take a walk, play with your kids, cook something new, stare out the window and do nothing. Notice how your brain settles. You don’t have to disappear forever—just long enough to reconnect with yourself. - Set screen-free zones
Pick a few places or times in your home that are off-limits to screens. The dinner table. The bathroom. The hour before bed. This creates boundaries that protect your energy and attention. Trust me: your brain and your relationships will thank you. - Build in intentional check-in times
Let’s be real—completely quitting your phone probably isn’t realistic. And honestly, sometimes we feel like we’ll miss something important. That’s okay. Give yourself permission to check—but only during specific times. For example, you could plan to check your phone at 9 AM, 1 PM, and 6 PM. Outside of those times? Put it somewhere you can’t easily grab it. You’re not cutting yourself off—you’re creating space. - Be mindful of your “why”
Before you open an app or check your email, ask: Why am I doing this? Am I bored? Avoiding something? Looking for connection? That simple pause helps you break out of autopilot and choose a more meaningful action. Maybe what you actually need is a breath of fresh air, a conversation, or a nap—not another scroll.
Your attention is one of your most valuable resources. Don’t let it get drained by default.
Taking a digital detox isn’t about being perfect or swearing off your phone forever. It’s about remembering you’re in control—and choosing to show up for your life, instead of letting it pass by in a blur of screens.
If you’re ready to take your digital detox further but feel overwhelmed figuring out where to start, I can help. Together, we can review your schedule and calendar to find realistic times for you to unplug, check in intentionally, and reclaim your focus without the stress.
Let’s work together to create a personalized plan that fits your life—so you can enjoy more peace, presence, and purpose every day.
