I had something completely different planned for this week.

But then something happened that perfectly illustrates why decluttering and organizing is so much more than moving stuff around or buying cute bins.

I’ve been telling clients for years that organizing helps your mind, your spirit, your nervous system. A more ordered space feels lighter. Calmer. More possible.

And this week? I saw it play out in real time.

I was working with a client to clear her office. Months ago, she had mentioned that she hoped to bring in a desk from a relative. The problem? There was no timeline. No urgency. It could have been months before it happened.

So we cleared the space anyway.

I told her sometimes organizing reminds me of Field of Dreams — “If you build it, he will come.”

Except in this case, it was:
If you make the space, it can arrive.

She laughed. It felt a little symbolic at the time.

The very next morning, I got a text from her.

Her relative had reached out. The desk could be delivered that weekend.

She said, “We spoke it into reality!”

I absolutely believe in speaking things into existence.

But I also believe in preparing for them.

Clearing that space wasn’t just symbolic. It removed friction. It removed excuses. It removed the quiet narrative of “we’ll deal with it later.”

So when the desk became available, there was no scrambling.

Just a simple, confident yes.

Now, I’m not saying if you clear a corner for a home gym that equipment will magically appear on your doorstep tomorrow.

But I am saying this:

When you declutter, you create readiness.

And readiness changes everything.

Decluttering isn’t just about the drawer.
It’s about identity.
It’s about alignment.
It’s about believing what you say you want — and acting like it’s possible.

So let me ask you:

What are you hoping to bring into your life right now?
A new routine?
A new opportunity?
A new level of calm?
Maybe even something tangible — a desk, a treadmill, a fresh start?

And what would it look like to clear space for it — literally?

Sometimes the most powerful next step isn’t doing more.

It’s making room.
