Hey friends!

If you’ve talked to me lately, you might already know: I’ve got tennis on the brain. 🎾

I’ve been a fan for years, but when Wimbledon rolls around? It’s game on. I’ve got the matches playing in the background while I work, clean, cook, or just try to catch a breath between the chaos of everyday life.

(Also—pro tip? The free Wimbledon app has a live radio feature, and the commentary is honestly more entertaining than most TV coverage. It’s become the soundtrack of my summer.)

But as I’ve been listening and watching this week, something clicked. These athletes—their mindset, their routines, the way they show up match after match—it’s not just inspiring… it’s incredibly relatable when you zoom out. Especially when you’re trying to build better habits, stay organized, or get your life under control as a busy working mom.

The habits we don’t see

Tennis matches last hours, but what really impresses me isn’t just the rallies—it’s the stuff behind the scenes:

  • The hours of practice

  • The consistent routines

  • The calm reset after a tough point

  • The way they trust the process, even on off days

That kind of consistency? That’s the stuff habits are made of. And it applies way beyond Centre Court.

What watching the pros reminded me about real-life productivity:

🟢 Progress doesn’t happen overnight.
Those smooth serves and backhand winners? Built over years. Same with home routines or productivity systems—they don’t magically appear because we bought a planner or a new set of bins. It’s the small, steady actions that add up.

🟢 Mindset matters.
When a player messes up a point, they don’t spiral (well… the good ones don’t). They reset, breathe, and prepare for the next one. We can do the same. Skip your routine for a few days? Start again. Messy kitchen by Wednesday? You’re human. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about staying in it.

🟢 They train for the long game.
Tennis players don’t just prepare for one match—they train to last through a season. That’s how we need to approach organizing and productivity. Not as a one-time sprint to “get it all together,” but as a lifestyle that grows and adapts with us.

🟢 Support systems make a difference.
Behind every player is a coach, a team, a routine. Behind every organized space or productive week? The same. You don’t have to do it alone. (And yes, I can be that coach if you want one!)

So what does this mean for you?

If you’re trying to start fresh—get organized, build better habits, finally get a handle on your time—it might not feel exciting every day. But like tennis, it’s not about flashy wins. It’s about showing up, one step at a time.

Tennis reminded me that building a life you love doesn’t happen in one dramatic swing—it happens in the quiet, consistent, in-between moments.

And yes, you’re allowed to have an off day. Just come back tomorrow.
