Hey friends!
Ever have one of those days where you look around and think, “How did everything get so out of control?” The laundry’s overflowing, your inbox is packed, your to-do list looks more like a short novel, and somehow you’re already behind before the week even starts.
You’re not lazy or unmotivated — you’re just human. Life moves fast, and it’s easy to lose your rhythm when you’re juggling work, family, and everything in between. But here’s the good news: you can reset. Not in a week, not next month — today.
Step 1: Clear the Clutter (Physically and Mentally)
When everything feels chaotic, your brain doesn’t know where to start. So instead of doing everything, start with something simple.
Tidy the space around you — even if it’s just the kitchen counter or your workspace. Throw away the trash, put away what doesn’t belong, and give yourself a small win. Only spend five minutes doing this. It can be easy to get fixated on tidying but we are looking for just enough clear space to clear your mind.
Then, do the same thing with your mind: take five minutes to do a brain dump. Write everything that’s taking up mental space — appointments, errands, worries, reminders — and get it out of your head and onto paper.
It’s not about organizing it all yet; it’s about getting clear on what’s actually there.
Step 2: Identify Your “Today Priorities”
When you’re feeling scattered, the key is to shrink your focus. What are the three most important things you need to get done today? Not everything you wish you could do — just the things that move you forward or bring you peace of mind.
For me, that often looks like:
- One task for my home
- One task for my business
- One thing for myself or my family
That’s it. If I can end the day with those three things done, it’s a win.
Step 3: Reset Your Environment and Your Energy
If your home feels like a reflection of your stress — piles of laundry, cluttered counters, papers scattered — it’s no wonder your energy feels off. Try what I call a mini-reset: set a timer for 15 minutes, turn on music, and do a quick sweep through your space.
Light a candle, open a window, or make a cup of tea when you’re done. Small rituals help you reconnect with calm and signal to your brain: We’re back in control.
Step 4: Plan Forward — Not Perfectly, Just Purposefully
Once you’ve cleared the noise, glance ahead. Look at the next day or two and ask:
- What’s already on my plate?
- What can I simplify?
- What can I delegate or outsource?
- What can I say no to?
This step isn’t about creating the “perfect” plan — it’s about creating a plan that fits your real life.
If you’re struggling with this or feel like you’re constantly hitting the reset button, don’t worry—I’ve got something coming that’s just for you. I’m hosting a workshop soon that’s designed to help you get back on track and finally find your flow again.
Because you don’t need to do more — you just need a better way to manage what already matters.
Your Next Step
If today you’re feeling scattered and behind, know this: you can start fresh.
Even one small reset can change your day — and one intentional day can start changing your life.
