Hi Friend,

Welcome to the final post in my Organizing Myths Busted series!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve talked about some of the biggest misconceptions that keep people from getting organized. And I wanted to end with one that I hear all the time:

“I’m just not ready yet.”

Now, let me say this…

Yes, there is a certain level of readiness that’s helpful.

Getting organized requires being open to change. It means being willing to let go of things that no longer serve you, considering new ways of doing things, and allowing someone into your home to help you sort through your belongings. That can feel incredibly personal and vulnerable.

So yes—you do need to be ready for that.

But I think many people turn “ready” into something much bigger than it needs to be.

Some of us use it as a way to procrastinate.

Others genuinely believe they have to wait until life slows down, the kids’ schedules calm down, work gets less hectic, or they have the perfect amount of time and energy.

Maybe you’re waiting until you’ve bought all the right bins.

Or until you’ve cleaned the house first.

Or until you’re feeling more motivated.

Here’s the truth:

There is rarely a perfect time to get organized.

Life keeps moving.

Schedules stay busy.

Laundry still piles up.

And before you know it, another six months—or another year—has gone by.

The best time to get organized may have been yesterday.

The second-best time is today.

If organizing has been on your mind lately… if you’ve found yourself thinking, “Something has to change,” then I’d say you’re probably ready enough.

Ready enough doesn’t mean you’ll have all the answers.

It doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy every decision.

It simply means you’re ready to take the first step.

And sometimes, that first step is asking for help.

If getting started feels overwhelming, you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

That’s exactly why I do what I do.

My goal isn’t to create a picture-perfect home.

It’s to help you create a home that feels calmer, functions better, and supports your everyday life.

So if you’ve been waiting for the “right” time…

Consider this your sign.

Your future self will thank you.

And I’d be honored to help you get there.
